The Assam Physical Society was established on 9/8/1997 by the physics community comprising of teachers of Physics Department of Gauhati University, different colleges and research scholars. Prof. Mohendra Nath Bora, former HoD, Department of Physics, Gauhati University was the founder president of the society. APS is a registered society under Society Registration Act XXI of 1860. with registration No. RS/KAM/240/J/213 of 1999-2000.
